From it's birth on 12th February 2012 I pondered about how I could turn my love of designing, making and wearing jewellery into a business. With my sketches of designs pouring out of books and a definite idea of how I should draw my logo - Heilala was drawn and named; the Tongan word for the most beautiful flower and Tongan Festival. A lady in a little shop in Hythe said she could sell my jewellery in her shop after seeing my wrists stacked with my creations and from there Heilala continues to grow.
Made from my cottage in the Kent countryside where I spend only happy hours long days and nights and early mornings making little treasures in all weathers and always with love. I am passionate about helping people turn a little tiny idea into a wonderful treasure. There is nothing quite like seeing the joy and delight on customers' faces as they receive their personally made and lovingly crafted jewellery. I have come to enjoy working with many different materials, including: sterling silver, pure silver, semi-precious beads, natural shells and wood.
The sea is my muse. A lot of my jewellery has been inspired by sun, sea and sand. The beach is simply a place where everything always seems better. Wear little Heilala treasures that are stackable with each other, day and night and from season to season.

I am inspired by the beauty in the natural elements of the beach, shells, pebbles, the colours, the tranquility, many of the photographs I have taken at the beach and some pieces created at the beach, which has become my second home. I love quirky, different, unusual, big bold statements, bright colours and my ancestoral home a tiny little Tongan Island; a place I go to in my dreams and then turn those dreams into sketches which become jewellery.
My daughter Frankie is also my inspiration for lots of my jewellery including Friday's Child and our mutual love of beach days collecting 'treasures' and Karma for her always trying to see the positive
